Free blood pressure checks are available in the pharmacy for all patients above the age of 40.
The service is completely free and will take around 10-15 minutes. This will involve checking your blood pressure followed by a discussion with the pharmacist. The Pharmacist will provide an explanation of your blood pressure reading and provide advice on a healthier lifestyle and any measures which can your risk of any heart and blood pressure related illnesses.
If necessary, some people may be recommended to have an Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitor to take home. This special monitor can take blood pressure readings over 24 hours whilst you go about their daily routine. The pharmacist will guide you through any steps necessary and invite you for a follow up appointment.
Based on your results, our pharmacist can support you to lead a healthier lifestyle and may refer you to your GP if necessary.
